a5c7b9f00b Superman battles against an insurmountable foe named Doomsday. I had a chance to watch "The Death of Superman" online, and I wasn't disappointed in the slightest. I thought the story, characters, and direction were well done. I definitely appreciated the climax. :) Arguably the most famous Superman story, "The Death of Superman" introduced Doomsday, the monster who did the impossible - killed Superman. The comic's still memorable 25 years later.

The animated film should be an accurate portrayal of the classic comic, but isn't. While it nails Doomsday better than the awful "Batman v Superman" version, the New 52 version has a lot of padding. Even Lex Luthor tries to help out.

There are some faithful elements, like Doomsday tearing through the Justice League en route to Metropolis and the iconic image of Superman's tattered cape on a pole, flying in the wind.

The best part of the movie is the climactic battle between Superman and Doomsday through Metropolis. It's worth sitting through the rest of the story just for this, as it's an epic battle which matches the famous comic battle.

There's a decent voice cast: Jerry O'Connell (Superman), Rebecca Romijn (Lois Lane), Rainn Wilson (Lex Luthor), Rosario Dawson (Wonder Woman) and Nathan Fillion (Green Lantern).

While fans of the original comic may be put off by all the changes, it's worth watching for the epic Doomsday battle.
